Summer of content?

It's a 15th anniversary but congratulations may not be in order. 15 years since my first published writing [that it was for the college magazine is just a detail]. 15 years since swearing [with another wide-eyed, wannabe-writer friend] that we would stomp the road less travelled. And finally, tragically, 15 years of having done too little about it. The bed of inertia is well-made and well-slept in so how does one get out of it, even if on the wrong side? But as I look out of the window at a Chicago evening, warm and bright at 830PM, I think aloud: is my summer of 'content' finally here?
